Val and Gavin took over the running of the Cock at Lavenham, in November 2006, bringing over 20 years experience in the licensed trade to this beautiful country Pub. Our journey here began by managing Essex pubs, from the fishing village of Leigh-on-Sea, up through the town centre metropolis of Basildon and into central London. However, as our family grew we found a need for more than the capital could offer, fuelling our escape to Suffolk. First to the village of Long Melford,
before finally falling for the Tudor charms of Lavenham. We believe that a pub is more than just a collection of bricks, pipes and thatch; it’s the people, the stories, and the moments. As such, we have always tried to run our businesses in an ethical and responsible way, thinking globally by acting and sourcing our ingredients locally, and trying to have a laugh along the way.
